Press Release – 42U Joins The Green Grid

Broomfield, CO—February 5, 2008:  42U the nation’s largest, vendor-independent valued-added reseller of data center infrastructure solutions, today announced its membership in The Green Grid, a non-profit consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems. With 42U’s large portfolio of solutions specifically designed to mitigate the growing power and cooling demands of today’s data centers, 42U is closely aligned with The Green Grid’s mission of defining user-centric models and metrics; developing standards, measurement methods, processes and new technologies to improve data center performance; and promoting the adoption of energy efficient standards, processes, measurements and technologies.

“We believe the green effort can see significant benefits if we can encourage today’s data centers to reduce power consumption by implementing energy efficiency best practices,” commented Alan Mamane, CEO and Founder of 42U.

The teams of IT Infrastructure Consultants at 42U works closely with customers to create a holistic view of their energy use and provide solutions that are best for the organization, and the environment. By partnering with The Green Grid, 42U is making the commitment to the green effort.

With the rising demand for high-performance computing, comes rising energy demands and rising energy costs. The EPA estimates that 10 more power plants will be needed before 2012, just to support IT growth. (Source, Energy Star 2007 – http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=prod_development.server_efficiency_study).  Despite the fact that power consumption is one of the most important issues facing IT today, there is a lack of vendor-neutral guidelines and resources available for those looking to drive a change. The Green Grid is working to change this by developing a unified voice around data center efficiency issues.

“We’ve seen, first-hand, the energy, cost and white space saving that can be achieved by optimizing an existing environment,” notes Patrick Cameron, Director of Business Development for 42U. “Instituting a green effort does not require sacrificing application uptime or systems availability.”

Press Release – DirectNET, Inc. Ranks 86 in the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in Denver-Aurora

Broomfield, CO—September 17, 2007: Inc. today ranked DirectNET, Inc. on its first-ever Inc. 5,000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country.  The Inc. 5,000, an extension of Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 500 list, catches many businesses that are too big to grow at the pace required to make the Inc. 500, as well as a host of smaller firms. Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy.

“The Inc. 5,000 provides the most comprehensive look ever at the most important part of the economy – the entrepreneurial part,” said Inc. 5,000 Project Manager Jim Melloan.  “The expansion of the list has allowed us to tell the stories of larger companies, older companies, and a wealth of companies in industries like Manufacturing and Construction that are under-reported in the business media.”

“We are very pleased to have been selected for this notable award,” commented Alan Mamane, CEO and President of DirectNET. “Our success can be attributed to both a solid understanding of the markets we serve, as well as a commitment to providing the highest level of technical knowledge and the best independent solutions to meet our customer’s needs.”

As a value-added reseller of IT infrastructure technology, including KVM switch, server rack, and other data center management technologies, DirectNET understands the importance of validating a manufacturer’s technology prior to recommending it to customers.  To this end, the company maintains an in-house test lab for the equipment it deals, giving the DirectNET team first-hand experience with the solutions. That direct technical knowledge leads to superior customer support, as well as hands-on training and expertise for their sales and support engineers.

With over 30 employees, one of DirectNET’s core values is the commitment to support and recognize diversity by acknowledging and appreciating varied ethnic, racial, life choice, and national differences.  In an effort to facilitate this principal, the company holds an annual “Diversity Day” where employees are encouraged to share and express their own background, things that they are interested in, places they would want to visit and specific cultures they are a part of.

The 2007 Inc. 5,000, as revealed online at www.inc.com, reported median revenue of $9.4 million and median three-year growth of 140 percent.  Complete information on this year’s Inc. 5,000, can be found atwww.inc.com/inc500. The list features a profile for each company, almost all of them written as a result of Inc. interviews with management. In addition, the list is searchable according to numerous criteria, including industry, city, state, region, and year founded.

Hottest Regions for Fastest-Growing Companies
Leading the list of the fastest-growing companies in the nation is the Midwest region with 1,046 of the fastest-growing companies, followed by the West with 884 companies.  The Southeast comes in a close third, with 872 companies, followed by the Northeast with 782 companies, and the Mid-Atlantic region with 606 companies.

Hottest Industries for Fastest-Growing Businesses
The largest business category is Construction, with 561 of the fastest-growing companies in this category,  followed by Manufacturing with 515 companies, IT services in third with 466 companies, Business Services with 377 companies and Advertising & Marketing with 349 companies round out the top five industries ranked on the 2007 Inc. 5,000.

Industries reporting the highest total revenue in 2006 are Construction ($27.1billion), Manufacturing ($18.6 billion), Health ($13.1 billion), Computers & Electronics ($12.7 billion), and Financial Services ($11.8 billion).

Methodology
The 2007 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2003 through 2006.  To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based and privately held, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2006, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2003, and $2 million in 2006.

Companies can apply for next year’s Inc. 500 and Inc. 5,000 by registering with IncBizNet, the new social network for private companies that will launch this fall on Inc.com.

DirectNET Inc., the nation’s largest provider of server management and data center infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has entered into a value added reseller agreement with Eaton Powerware to provide comprehensive power quality and backup power management solutions.

“With the current estimates that 10 to 30 percent of IT budgets go toward paying for power, we recognize the need to provide innovative, efficient power solutions,” comments Alan Mamane, CEO of DirectNET. “Based on our vendor agnostic approach of assessing, recommending, and offering the solutions that best fit our customer’s needs, Eaton’s market-leading power technologies were a critical addition to our portfolio.”

Along with Powerware’s broad range of rack-based uninterruptible power system (UPS) systems, DirectNET will also offer Powerware’s pivotal technologies that provide much-needed relief for high-density computing environments including the innovative Powerware BladeUPS™ and the Power Xpert Architecture™.

“Our ability to offer these niche products, in conjunction with broader-reaching power solutions, is an important market advantage for DirectNET,” commented Patrick Cameron, Director of Business Development for DirectNET, Inc. “In the coming quarters we expect to continue adding products that meet the unique needs of our customers.”

The Powerware BladeUPS is a revolutionary power quality solution, scalable power protection from 12 kW to 60 kW in a single industry standard 19-inch rack, and most significantly, providing this robust, compact solution without generating the additional heat associated with legacy end-of-row, modular UPS products.

IT and facility managers have complete visibility of and access to real-time, accurately synchronized information related to power quality at both the system and equipment levels.
