42U Adds Rittal's Liquid Cooling and PDU
Products to GSA
Broomfield, CO – April 25, 2008: 42U (www.42u.com),
the nation's largest, vendor-independent valued-added reseller
of data center infrastructure solutions today announced that is
has added Rittal to their GSA schedule.
With this addition, 42U's government customers can now have
access to the industry's leading modular, scalable and
comprehensive IT infrastructure solutions including enclosures,
high-density cooling solutions and power distribution units.
Included in the agreement are the following:
Rittal Liquid
Cooling Package (LCP)
Developed to remove high levels of wasted heat from server
enclosures, this high density cooling solution utilizes
air/water heat exchangers to provide uniform, effective and
affordable cooling for servers and similar IT equipment. The
special horizontal airflow of the Rittal LCP represents an
adaptation of this widespread cooling principle, providing
cooled air uniformly throughout the complete height of the
enclosure.
-
LCP Standard
Designed to be installed next to an 80" (2000 mm) high
by 40"/48" (1000/1200 mm) deep TS8 server cabinet, the LCP
Standard can accommodate up to three air/water exchanger
modules that can be hot swapped if needed. When fully loaded
with three air/water exchanger modules the LCP Standard can
provide up to 68,243 BTU (20KW) of useful cooling with a
maximum air volume of 1766 cfm (3000 m3/hr). Don't have an
immediate need for that much heat removal? Start with one
exchanger module then add more as needed.
-
LCP Plus
Using the same footprint and basic design as the
Standard, the LCP Plus includes six fan modules that work in
concert with the included heat exchanger to increase the
useful cooling capacity to 95,540 BTU (28 kW). The LCP Plus
is designed for cabinets 80" (2000 mm) high by 48" (1200 mm)
deep and has a maximum air volume of 2825 cfm (4800 m3/hr).
The LCP Plus (and LCP Standard) can be bayed to a single
cabinet or between two enclosures. It is also possible to
put a pair of LCPs on either side of especially hot cabinets
for applications where extreme heat loads are present.
-
LCP Extend
Ideal for retrofitting, the LCP Extend is installed on
the rear door of problem racks. The LCP Extend can be
ordered for use on cabinets from other manufacturers. If you
are already using Rittal cabinets, the unit comes mounted
into the proper replacement rear door which allows you to
simply swap it out with the existing rear door.
Rittal
Power Distribution Units (PDU)
-
Metered PDU
Metered PDU products provide reliable power distribution
for all the devices in your equipment cabinet, from 5,000 to
20,000 Watts. Metered units are available in 20 or 30 amps,
120 Volts or 208/240 Volts single-phase, and 208 Volts
three-phase. Local input current monitoring allows the
installation engineer to verify the combined load on the
circuit or phase.
-
Smart PDU
The Smart PDU products provide reliable power
distribution combined with remote power and environmental
monitoring. Use the network interface to view power,
temperature and humidity levels via a Web browser, or
receive SNMP-based alarms when conditions exceed defined
thresholds.
-
Switched PDU
Switched PDU products are Flagship PDU's with remote
monitoring and management, including reboot commands for
connected servers and network equipment. The Switched PDU
products provide complete lights-out management of a data
center and remote branch office. Switched PDU's combine
remote configuration and management with power distribution
and power and environmental monitoring.
Rittal TS8 Modular Industrial Enclosure
A revolutionary system designed specifically for demanding
industrial applications. Featuring a 16- fold tubular frame and
multi-level mounting, the TS8 boasts unsurpassed strength and
flexibility. The robust tubular frame can hold weight loads up
to 1,500 lbs on the mounting panel. The 25 mm hole pattern
allows components and accessories to be mounted in three
directions -- by height, width and depth - which provides
maximum space utilization (up to 30% more available space than
traditional NEMA style enclosures of equal dimension). The
symmetrical frame design makes suiting in a row, into a corner
or even back-to-back simple
