Press Release - 42U Announces Engineering and Education Services that Optimize Data Center Power and Cooling

Broomfield, CO—February 22, 2008:  42U, the nation's largest, vendor-independent valued-added reseller of data center infrastructure solutions, today announced the availability of specialized engineering and educational services designed to help data center managers enhance the power and cooling performance of their existing environment.

42U understands that no two data centers are alike. As a result, they've added these unique services that are not only performed by an independent and objective 3rd party but also provide findings and recommendations specific to the end user's unique data center environment.

With these services, customer's can expect to reclaim misdirected cooling capacity, remediate zone and vertical hotspots and minimize bypass airflow. This will further stabilize their environment improving equipment reliability while diminishing the capital costs associated with installing additional cooling equipment.

• Airflow conditions: Analysis of current airflow conditions, including perforated tile layout, under floor airflow, perimeter breaches, and raised-floor bypass area and bypass airflow volume.
• Critical power conditions: A look at current power conditions that includes a comparison of power consumption vs. system capacity, identifies power distribution limits, quantifies rack utilization, and identifies raised-floor bypass area and bypass airflow volume.
• General room conditions: An overall assessment that surveys the make-up air system, equipment layout, cabling management, and room contamination (including debris and dust).
