IMG_8685It’s a Fajita Monday at the DirectNET headquarters!

Spices and laughter fill the air as our excited employees stack their plates with this Meatless Monday special. Jess brings the farm to table, or rather to the office, with fresh avocado, cilantro, and bell peppers marinated in her secret, mouth-watering fajita sauce.

How could we not get creative and sink our teeth into these faux chicken and beef, whole wheat wrapped burrito goodness!

Conservation through Trail Maintenance

Tags :

As spring approaches, Colorado nature trails get a grooming by local volunteers. Here at DirectNET, we are proud to have more than a few people who spend time outside clearing paths and enhancing the safety for others.

Chris is an avid outdoorsman with a passion for conservation. In June, he’ll be trail building with a non-profit group, Flyathon, who is partnering with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC), to “ rehabilitate several miles of trail accessing Rio Grande cutthroat trout waters in the Indian Creek / East Middle Creek / Middle Creek drainage.  Volunteers will help close user created social trails, install signs, build rock drainage structures, widen and rebuild trail tread, clear blowdown trees and other obstacles and build cairns to demarcate the intended route as it travels through open meadows.”

This is Sara’s first year helping maintain a few miles of the Colorado Trail with a family that has watched over it for a couple generations. A long camping weekend in May will help boost the quality of the trail for summer visitors.

“The CTF’s Adopt-A-Trail (AAT) Program and volunteers accomplish annual maintenance on The Colorado Trail (CT). Each summer, Adopters and their volunteer helpers…

  • Clear fallen trees to make way for trail users early in the trail season and soon after snow melts on your section.
  • Assess signage: intersection signs and trail markers both northbound and southbound.
  • Clean water diversions sometime during trail season to prevent erosion.
  • Report to CTF and AAT Coordinator as needed & requested.

By performing this maintenance and reporting back to the office, Adopters and their helpers enable the CTF to continue preserving The Colorado Trail.”

The Office

It has become a natural routine to explore the open space behind our office. At different points in the day, our biophilic employees get some sunshine, walk the paths, and return fly-away trash to its respectable receptacle — Helping this world be a better place, one trail at a time.

Meatless Monday – Jan 2016

Another delicious month incorporating #MeatlessMonday!

curry potJanuary 2016’s menu kicked off with Tuttle providing lettuce wraps with well-spiced veggies and tofu. The following monday, Shannon kicked it up a notch with some curry creation! Incorporating her vegan choices, her custom-adjusted 30 minute coconut curry recipe fulfilled all our nutritional needs PLUS coconut curry sensations, all in one bowl of awesome!

Which brings us to today!

Daniel Mamane is perfecting his high altitude, garlic-oil-based pasta with citrus flavors of lemon and lime.

Our team not only participates in the preparation of meals on Monday, but indulges in the big feasts throughout the rest of the week. Want to incorporate #MeatlessMonday in your kitchen? Check out the nifty toolkit from

A DirectNET Holiday 2015

Tags :

Most all companies bring the team together for the holidays. This year, the DirectNET, Inc. family had a very filling lunch at one of our favorite local authentic Thai food restaurants, Busaba!

Plus, a few optional events included Secret Santa and Share-a-Gift.

Endless dishes of spring rolls, noodles, rice, veggies, and tofu filled our bellies while we shared stories and laughter.

This may sound cheesy (a vegan-friendly cheese of course), one of our team members exclaimed, “The food is excellent! And the napkins are top notch.”

Check out more pictures posted by our local Vegan Travelers on the page.

One of the Secret Santa gifts was a scavenger hunt for a 12 pack of soda!

Check out the YouTube video below for our Share-a-Gift project.

Meatless Monday July 2015

This July was filled to the brim with home-made, delicious
Meatless Monday meals created by our very talented DirectNET team.

DirectNET Meatless Monday July Crepe Chef

The first Monday creation included sweet and savory crepes created by our Vegan Travel sagacious Shannon. She says she omitted the nutmeg and vanilla from this recipe, but recommends “to include those if you’re going for a sweet crepe.”

The second Monday, Shannon stepped up again and treated us to one of her weekly menu staples: Acai Bowls. “These are smoothie bowls that you can top with anything you like, and we will have a special “topping bar” so you can customize your own bowl.” The masterpieces of taste sparked a full day of great thoughts and productivity.

DirectNET Meatless Monday July Veggie ChefWe would usually have yoga on Mondays but during this third week of July it was moved to Wednesday which worked out very well. The featured meals prepared by our own in-house chefs, Chris and Andre, filled everyone’s bellies to the max with their Ratatouille, Bean Soup, Butternut Squash, and Salad. With Chris’ chef background and Andre’s creativity, the afternoon quickly became enjoyable and memorable smorgasbord of flavors.

The month concluded with our CEO and accomplice whipping together their very addictive, traditional family recipe of Moroccan couscous. Plus, Shannon made a surprise dessert of Chocolate Pudding Pie with Peanut butter frosting and Chocolate Chip Cookies with a Caramel drizzle –all Vegan friendly and amazingly delicious. Who knew Vegan food could be so sweet!
