Key Responsibilities
The person in this role will lead and manage the projects of
the IT team. This IT Project Manager will wear several hats, and
be an active participant in all IT projects pitching in on
various aspects of the projects as needed. S/he also works in
partnership with other teams outside of IT to achieve corporate
and team objectives.
- Work with management to understand priorities/needs for
IT and put together a plan of how to achieve those
objectives
- Plan, manage execution, monitoring and closure of all IT
projects
- Accountable for maintaining the scope, budget and
timeline
- Document IT processes and procedures
- Manage new system builds and existing system rebuilds
- Drive IT software and solution selection process
- Keep abreast of developments in the industry, best
practices, and trends
- Make recommendations regarding appropriate technologies,
infrastructure and software, analyzing gaps between
current/desired states
- Participate in execution of projects as needed
- Develop and implement test plans
- Identify and manage risks associated with IT projects.
Flags delays, risks and resource issues
- Develop and implement process for monitoring and
alerting of any potential downtime of systems
- Improve IT communication to the company as a whole
- Identifies Milestones, Dependencies, and Deliverables
- Balances project Resource assignments and workloads
- Assist with user support as needed
- Meet with direct manager to review team plan, individual
plan, quarterly metrics, and quarterly individual
performance and to discuss plan refinements
Required experience/characteristics
- Passion for looking at future needs and developing and
implementing a plan to achieve needed results
- Problem Solver
- Thorough knowledge of project management concepts,
practices, and techniques (PMP certification preferred)
- Good communicator
- Self-motivated
- Experience in the installation, configuration and
testing of various software systems on servers (SQL,
Exchange, IIS, AD, Domains)
- Extremely familiar with complex system dependencies in
IT infrastructures, to include data flow models and change
management
- Familiar with configuring network devices,
infrastructure design, and component functions and features
- Experienced in researching new technologies and
performing feature/cost/ benefit analysis related to IT
directional vision and company needs/vision
- Familiar with information security and developing
corporate procedures to ensure its effectiveness
- Web development experience is a plus (ASP, .NET, C#, MS
dev studio)
