Requirements

  • Degreed mechanical engineer with tangible data center experience.
    • Degreed EEs with data center infrastructure experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to use engineering principles to provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and the specification of products.
  • Comfort with conceptual engineering calculations and ability to integrate these into reports and presentations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of styles to fit different personality types
  • Project management experience
  • Must enjoy working with diverse groups of people with widely variable technical skills.
  • Highly organized with an ability to multi-task
  • Effectively communicate technical terms and concepts to non-technical stake-holders and provide education to non-technical internal staff
  • Must be able to approach any scenario with a solution-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and absorb technical information
  • Previous experience in Data Center environment
  • Previous experience with power and cooling equipment
  • Previous experience with energy efficiency initiatives

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as subject matter expert for Sales in representing 42U’s products and services
  • Go on Sales calls or be on conference calls with Sales to help define the customer requirements, create a potential solution and discuss the feasibility of solutions
  • Performs engineering duties in planning and designing data center solutions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs.
  • Estimate costs for engineering, construction and prepare contract documents.
  • Create assessment reports and report templates for data center assessments including all the associated engineering calculations
  • Perform special projects and research new emerging technologies
  • Conducts energy audits and prepares written assessments identifying potential energy conservation upgrades, including detailed analyses of costs and savings.
